Tamper Evident Tube called Popi^TM

The Popi closure technology won a major award at the British Invention Show in October 2005:  GOLD Medal for the top consumer item.

This patented multi-functional tamper-evident closure called Popi^TM has been designed to replace existing confectionery and snack food plastic and cardboard tube containers because many of these packs are not truly tamper-evident and therefore very vulnerable to terrorism or ‘grazing’ at point of sale. 

Brand manufacturers are constantly trying to improve on their packaging in order to facilitate sales of their product against competing products and, to some degree brands with a long history need to reinvent themselves through variants to stay fresh in the consumers’ mind.  They also have to cope with an ever-changing market place where new legislation, consumer pressure and the unexpected can all demand rapid change. 

Bearing the above in mind, we included a number of new key elements into Popi^TM that would bring it more into line with current legislation and foreseen market trends.  These are consumer safety - having incorporated clear and effective tamper evidence and by 'fluting' the removable flip-lid, so, if swallowed, a child or animal could breath through it.  A personalised holographic tag helps prevent counterfeiting and some new entertaining elements are added (please see below) making it more fun for kids.

We have also built in a hidden 'pop' opening action, and telescope concept (the latter, a debossed image on the inside of the end cover, giving a photo-realistic quality when viewed in front of a light source) that children would find both entertaining and collectable, increasing the incentive to buy the new pack format.
